Mig88
Hello everyone Here is an Academy 1:72 Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6/R6 I built in 2005. It represents "Yellow 1" flown by Lt. Manfred Dieterle, of 3./JG300, Luftwaffe, from Bonn-Hangelar, Germany, in March 1944. The main colours were airbrushed with the squiggles applied with brush. The decals came from an Eagle Cals sheet. Thanks for looking Miguel

Adam Poultney
Amazing scheme, love it! I'm guessing this is an older tooling kit, something about the shape just seems a little off.

I built the Academy Spitfire XIV a while ago and it too was way out shape wise.

The Academy Spitfire XIV is well-known for being off-shape (fuselage too high I believe). On the other hand, many reviews of the Bf 109G-6 in the past said the opposite! Graham Boak
I must admit having the model for over 20 years whilst thinking it looked rather good, but such large photos do accentuate any peculiarities. I suggest that perhaps the thrust line is a little bit high, and the top of the fuselage nose therefore doesn't slope down enough, Perhaps because of this the initial curve runs too far onto the hinge line rather than being more at the nose. Maybe. Such subtle things can make you think - is that quite right? Nicely done though.

Mig88
Thank you very much everyone! Yes it was an unusual scheme and it was one of several short-lived experimental nightfighter schemes on the type. Miguel
