Missed that bit Bearing in mind I'm interpreting black and white photos but they're a single tone in the wells, doors, legs and wheels and they all look silver to me. 72modeler Posted October 11, 2019 Share Posted October 11, 2019 Wellzy, I have posted a couple of links to the P-51H recently restored by the Chanute Aviation museum, but when the museum was forced to close, the Mustang was transferred to the Warner Robbins Museum. As you can see from its history, it has pretty much remained through its lifetime as it was delivered, and I think the restoration artisans were pretty careful to duplicate the original finish and coatings for the most part. That being said, the usual caveat applies to using museum aircraft as a color reference, but this one appears to be as close to original in every aspect as any other preserved/airworthy H model Mustang.
