Eduard 1/72 MiG-21MF (DDR)

Recommended Posts

Hi there.

This is my 20th model I have completed since the beginning of this year, after I restarted this hobby after putting it on hold all those years ago. And I've had a blast ever since. I've been building mostly cold war jets in 1/72 scale.

So about the model:

Model: Eduard MiG-21MF (Royal Class Combo, No. R0017)

Scale: 1/72

Paints: Vallejo Model & Air

Aftermarket: None (kit was supplied with resin & etch parts)

Weathering: Vallejo Weathering Effects, Flory Models Wash

Decals: Techmod TM72070

Eduard kit is simply but brilliant. Not a bad word I can say about it.

Word of caution of the photography - I'm trying to get better photos but I'm not quite there yet. Especially the colours are bit off but anyway, I hope you can see enough.

Comments & constructive criticism is welcomed.

Very nice, Reini. You chipped her with a silver pencil?

Hi Martin. I like to use brush. First I used light gray - and then created some 'highlights' with silver.

Thank you for the comments.

20 this year! And such high quality too if this beauty is anything to go by.  I’ve only managed four in that time.

Well to be honest, there has been lot of learning that has happened during this year, trial and error. So not all kits I have made this year are worth showing. But then again, I haven't tried to make each kit perfect - rather tried to learn something and take it into consideration with my next build. Thanks for commenting!

Really captured the look of the MiG there, the painting is spot on! Did you do a WIP thread?

No I did not - I just recently got into these forums (been lurking for a while, though) and I did not do a WIP thread. But good thing is that I have the Royal boxing of the Eduard kit - so it comes with a second kit. I'm thinking of doing it in Luftwaffe colours - so kinda like before & after.

Thanks all for your comments!
