Jabba
Whilst on a week away in Prague, with the Saturday spent at E-Day, SWMBO and I decided to go to the aviation museum at Kbely on the Sunday rather than being in the city centre that day. So after a metro ride and a 30 min walk from the station we ended up at the air base. I have been to Kbely a few times during my air force career but never to the museum. These photo are from the outside exhibits there, the inside ones are a little crowded to try and photograph apart from XT899 the 19 Sqn Blue Phantom which I think had been at least repainted and a Slovak MiG 29 (which I forgot to photograph). Also at this main area there was a section that contained many a MiG and Sukhoi was fenced off so could not be visited. A short walk away is another area which the museum pamphlet says that bombers are housed, and the aircraft in there include Su-25, Su-22 MiG-23Bn and MF (I think) and a MiG-21 and yes I forgot to photograph these. It really is a splendid museum and it does look as if they are trying in the future to house more of the exhibits indoors. The fenced of compound.
Mike
That brings back some memories Good to see everything is still there. I remember when we booked a taxi no-one understood our pronunciation of Kbely, so I'm still wondering to this day how to pronounce it properly
Max Headroom
Some good stuff there. How did the F-5 get there? Trevor

You can see the markings of South Vietnam on its flanks. F-5s and A-37s were sent to Warsaw Pact countries for examination. The MLP in Cracow also has the same types received for the same reason. upnorth
Nice shots. I visited the museum back in August. It was my first visit since 2014 and I was amazed at how much had changed and developed.
Learstang
I didn't realise they had so much on outside display. That C-47 needs a bit of attention, though. Regards, Jason
F-32
Never been to this museum but it looks like I need to plan a visit! Great shots, thanks for posting.
Tentacles
Great shot of the Mil4. I'm building one at the moment, and am about to start on all the sticky-out-bits. (Is that the correct technical term?) So a very useful pic, thanks. (Mine was meant to be an in-service machine, but my paint job was so poor, it looks a bit like your example. So I've decided to claim this as a win!) Quote no-one understood our pronunciation of Kbely, so I'm still wondering to this day how to pronounce it properly Czech "K" is pronounced "kuh", not "kay" - so "kuhbely" Edited October 19, 2019 by Tentacles
