Learstang
Very nice choice - a PVO (Air Defence) Mk.IX. That's one I want to do myself, in 1/72nd scale. Regards, Jason

Reini78
We´ve seen there´s some discussion about the lightning machine on the web, clipped or no clipped wing tips, e wing or c wing...you see all sorts of versions as models, profiles and decals. My dad now reconsidered and will do this scheme from the AML sheet AMLD72018D by grimreaper110, auf Flickr
Col.
Your dad seems to have a Soviet theme running lately. No bad thing in my opinion

No bad thing in my opinion Wasn´t intended, but often one model leads to another and suddenly there´s an ongoing theme 😀 The Spit will be the last Soviet/Russian model this year. But most probably the IIAF and FAR theme will continue...not sure yet.

AFAIK the there is not a decent photo. But, most likely just post war, as it seems that a lot of VVS types got repainted in in summer 45 (keep the ground crews busy?) including Lend Lease types, with mono coloured uppers.... see But, the VVS repaints post war are confirmed, and this maybe of interest, buried in the Sovietwarplanes site http://massimotessitori.altervista.org/sovietwarplanes/board/index.php?topic=1031.msg17703#msg17703 Note this was 1948, the VVS carried on using Spitfires for sometime post war! by this stage Green AMT-4 over AMT-7 blue undersides I'd suggest.
