Your dad seems to have a Soviet theme running lately. No bad thing in my opinion :D

Wasn´t intended, but often one model leads to another and suddenly there´s an ongoing theme 😀

The Spit will be the last Soviet/Russian model this year.

But most probably the IIAF and FAR theme will continue...not sure yet.

again...don't trust the profile...  AFAIK the there is not a decent photo.

But, most likely just post war,    as it seems that a lot of VVS types got repainted in in summer 45 (keep the ground crews busy?)  including Lend Lease types,  with mono coloured uppers....

see

But,  the VVS repaints post war are confirmed, and this maybe of interest, buried in the Sovietwarplanes site

VVS Spitfire IXe red 2 1948

Note this was 1948, the VVS carried on using Spitfires for sometime post war!

by this stage Green AMT-4 over AMT-7 blue undersides I'd suggest.  Note the coloured rudder trim tab

Already stumbled across this BM thread, one of the reasons my dad turned now to a different scheme.

Thanks for the info 😉

The instruments have no detail and there is no decal provided in the kit, therefore my dad did some drybrushing to simulate some detail. Good enough, won´t see much with the closed fuselage.

DA CAPO!

My dad wasn´t satisfied anymore how the kit turned out so far. So it went into the trash and he started again with a Hasegawa kit, less problems and work.
