A B17 from Sweden (SAAB that is )

Recommended Posts

Hi All ,

The interior is green now . The cockpit still needs a little detail painting and some seat belts . I have also assembled the main bits and pieces . The plan is to get the airframe together and primed ready for the final take on the colours . More on that soon . The fit so far is good just a little flash to deal with , a lot less than on some mainstream kits . Thanks to all for your help and comments . Hope the result will be worthy of the effort .

JW Thanks for the B18 pic . The blue grey seems close to the Humbrol 87 mentioned in the kit . Whether it is 100% accurate is a matter of debate but is is a start . It is possible that the research for the kit was done at the museum .

Nice start!

The Swedish interior green is just plain Olive green, the fabled W25 though😎

Most of the time!

Repaint time

Hi All

This is the progress so far . All closed up and basic air frame complete . The paint choices will be Tamiya XF25  for the undersides and Humbrol 106 for the uppers

The fit of parts so far is good although some filling will be required . More tonight hopefully. Thanks for looking

Hi All ,

A little more done . The bomb bay doors have been closed up to hide the empty space . The cavity was filled to give the doors support

Now for a little filling and sanding

This is unlikely to make the gallery but should be finished shortly afterwards

That's perfectly fine! The only drawback may be the limited audience you get after the end of the GB. If you think you'll need some time to finish it, you may consider moving the thread to the normal Aircraft WIP area.

Cheers

Hi All

Well the floats are on . To get a positive fit I removed the locating lugs under the wing

Then it was out with the super glue . The paint work has been touched up ready for the finishing touches . Not happy with the canopy though It may well be replaced in the future

Thanks for looking in
