Revell 1:32 Junkers Ju 88A-1 "Battle of Britain"

Recommended Posts

Hello all! Here are some photos of my recently completed model, Revell's Ju 88A-1 in 1:32.

It was a fight from start to finish, some pieces, such as the rudder pedals, didn't live to see the end of the project. I take all that to my own poor construction methods. I won't build another 32nd bomber again.

Nice build. Good to see a BOB Ju 88. I wish ICM would do a 1/48 version. It's the only one missing from there catalog.

I think their A-5 Ju 88 comes with decals for a BoB aircraft.

Kudos for finishing the fight so well! It IS a big fooka. Your splinter pattern looks great too

Thanks! It's my biggest model after my Fw 190A-8/R11.

I have to thank Tamiya tape for the sharpness of the splintern camouflage.

Yes it does and I have it.  But it is not the main BOB Ju88. You need this Ju 88 A-1 for that. In fact I do have the A-1 conversion set. But I'm lazy and would like the real kit.

Regarding a 1/48 JU-88A-1 - as it happens, that was one of my quests. I found that the Special Hobby's JU-88D-5 kit (a reboxed ICM kit with extra clear sprue) has everything you need for a correct A-1.  The correct engines, you just need to shorten the wings, early rudder, armored and un-armored single gun 'B' stand. Plus some real nice resin with early wheels.  The only things required are the early un-armored pilots seat and correct decals. I have one on my to-do pile.

That's a beauty! I love the sharp-looking paint job. At 1/32, it's probably a pretty decent size.

It's a bit bigger than an Fw 190A-8 in the same scale.
