I'm having a bit of a ponder over on the TID Tug so . . .

Now I'll be truthful, nothing was further from my mind than a 1/350 boat ( I was given this model by a good friend who always seems to be leading me astray). I was looking around for something from the etch set that might help the tug. No joy on the part but I got to looking at the detail Dragon had included with slide moulding :hmmm:

Now with things on hold on the tug, the fact that I've never built anything smaller than 1/200. There are some very nice multi media kits out there in 1/350. The fact that I have an involuntary tremor in my left hand which is never going to get better (I mean that as an encouragement to others, not an excuse). There was no time like the present

No promises that this can be completed but here we go .......

A destroyer? Will you be converting it into a north atlantic trawler?

It's a really nice kit. Even though it's not your 'thing' you should get some pleasurable building out of it.

After all the ships you've put together in this scale, I think not. I'm copying you

Lovely start Kev, a kit build eh :hmmm:That’s going to feel a bit like a fish out of water for you matey .... keep a handful of plastic stock close by for those “scratch building” feelings, just so you can sniff or fondle if the urge strikes  :cyclops:

Well first of I would clarify something. In the past with my scratch builds some unkind people have alluded to the fact that I might not be all there. 9 bob note, sandwich short of a picnic etc.. You get the picture. Having now attempted 1/350 kit build I can state for sure a 1/200 scratch build is a walk in the park!. I will now be able to spot the 1/350 & 1/700 builders at Telford. Makes the @Martian Hale look positively human ..........

Todays struggle twin 20mm oerlikons. I was struggling to line up the barrels so

Gidday Kev, generally I've heard them referred to as 'blast bags', but on one occasion (an American reference if memory serves) as 'bloomers'. I'd like to do some USN ships in the near future, and if you don't mind your build here will be a valuable reference for me. (read "plagiarism" 😁).

You seem to have gained a spare twin 5-inch turret, and I really like those twin 20mm Oerlikons.

Regards, Jeff.
