harvey1847
Hi All! I have been busy... what a days! Rain, floods, snow, cold.. What's wrong with this weather?! Anyway, Still ducting the b***y trailer...Here are some pics. the pic tells by it's own. Those PE pieces are really neat built (etched). I use to first place the PE piece with TAMYLLA glue and when I feel comfy where is place put drop od CA. My first set of wheel chassis glued in place. I am working from Front to Rear. Two "bogies" at a time. Otherwise (if you glue them all in place) they will interfere you ducting... The following 4 pics shows the order I follow to place the ducts. And so on... I have drawn the templates for all these 4 ducts. I'll sacan them and post it. The most important thing I did (and took me a while) was to be sure the length of duct you need to make every single duct. What a pain... Well, Been pressing END and ENTER Mike! See what happens... Fingers Crossed! (I give up) Happy Tuesday ahead! Daniel Edited November 18, 2019 by harvey1847

willskip
Hi Daniel, I bought this kit a bit ago. I will start on it next year as I'm building the Accurate Armour CrARRV at the moment, (might look good on this?) Your work here will be a huge help to me when I start. Thanks for the very detailed pictures and commentary. Bill
harvey1847
Hi All and Merry Christmas! Big update! I finally finish the ducting (20th) but I was so exhausted and boring of dealing with the ducts that I also started to make the chassis of the truck. There is no pics of the process cause is pretty straight forward... the only piece you have to bear in mind is H 15 and K 22 . Trim the tenons. otherwise the plastic pieces looking forward won't fit. So yeah, I'm going to drop all the pics I have so far and I hope they'll speak by themselves. harvey1847
DSC01385 by Daniel Valbuena, on Flickr As it is right now. I just pre-set the whole set to have an idea how big is going to be when finish... Still thinking how to display it. Any ideas are welcome! DSC01365 by Daniel Valbuena, on Flickr Front Wheel. DSC01367 by Daniel Valbuena, on Flickr I finally decided to fill the gap between those pieces with some putty. DSC01368 by Daniel Valbuena, on Flickr Rear Wheel. The instructions are quite clear. Another thing are the pieces involved... seriously this kit it is not the best of the world! Tamiya for me is 9/10... this Hobby Bossy Thing... 6/10? maybe. DSC01387 by Daniel Valbuena, on Flickr I have filled this gab with putty again. Pictures to come soon... DSC01386 by Daniel Valbuena, on Flickr Wheel crane added. More pieces to come. PE pieces specially and all the ducting from the platform to the "neck" of the trailer. DSC01384 by Daniel Valbuena, on Flickr I have added some "texture" with putty to simulate the anti-slepery surface of the steps on the "neck" (pcs.PE-SA 1,2 &3) DSC01383 by Daniel Valbuena, on Flickr DSC01370 by Daniel Valbuena, on Flickr 2nd Rear Wheel Chassis. The torque bar is tricky! Not an easy going pieces... all of them. Be aware... DSC01371 by Daniel Valbuena, on Flickr DSC01374 by Daniel Valbuena, on Flickr I scratch all the primer before gluying the pieces. Dry pre-set the piece. Mark where it goes. Rasp the primer and glue in place. Otherwise you'll end up with a mess of primer and glue running all over the place... DSC01375 by Daniel Valbuena, on Flickr 3rd Rear... DSC01377 by Daniel Valbuena, on Flickr DSC01380 by Daniel Valbuena, on Flickr Pcs. D40 & E40 are simply TOO SHORT. they do not fit. Got questions. Which colour should I buy to paint the whole model?. I am very pleased with the primer! Can I use it as the final colour!? My intention is to use oil based colours to make the whashes to age the model. I've found that the BUFF XF57 (Tamiya) is quite dark. XF-55 DECK TANK and XF-60 DARK YELLOW as well... Have a great day!
