Here is another picture https://airscapemag.files.wordpress.com/2014/12/aw52-close-1948.jpg . As the rectangle area is the entrance to the aircraft perhaps it is some form of emergency release instructions, there is a video showing the pilot entering the aircraft https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AkZjLe_25o . Also the rectangle warning on the flap, as it is near the exhaust may say  EXHAUST AREA or HEAT .

Liking the look of this more and more. At least it has a single colour finish and not many decals. To preempt any comment on surface detail,it should be minimal as the wings were extremely smooth to in an attempt to obtain laminar flow

AW52 is now safely in my hands and I have had to chance to have a good look at it.

Although it by now means fills the box, the AW52 was not small span wise. A completed model will span 15 inches (38.1 centimetres).

Full engines are given, most of which will be invisible, but the front will be visible through the intake ducts.

Instructions look to be adequate, although lack much in the way of colour notes for the interior, undercarriage etc.

I suspect the 3D decals were a last minute add in. The instructions mention them in relation to the cockpit where they mainly go on already detailed PE, but no mention of the seat belts that are on the decal sheet.

The surface detail looks OK to me and even small parts are well formed. Some flash is present on one of the runners, but not enough to get excited about.

The wing trailing edges are reasonably thin. The wing  and centre fuselage halves have one piece trailing edges on one piece that forms a ledge and the other halves end in a vertical section. From previous experience this may take some fettling to get a flat join.

The main wheels have the same detail both sides, which I have my doubts about. As they are paired on each leg this may be less of an issue.

Overall it looks to be a nice kit, but the lack of location pins and the need to build up sub assemblies may deter less experienced modellers, as well as the cost.

I have just been looking at the kit with a view to building it shortly.

Am I missing something or are there only ten pairs of combustion chamber halves on the sprues, rather than the 18 required?

Also the floor assembly in front of the front bulkhead seems to be missing from the sprues.

You do however get two control wheels - part 9.

Any other views on this?

On checking my kit, I see what you mean regarding the combustion chambers. I was not going to bother with them as I think they will be invisible anyway. But it is a very curious error. There also seems to be missing from the front bulkhead (part 38) the mounting for the rudder pedals which I assume what you mean. Again very curious to point of sloppiness. The instruction writer and kit designer and tool makers seem to have a, communication problem.

I am currently wrestling with trying to assemble one of these and it is not easy. Apart from the aforementioned problems almost nothing quite fits and tongues do not match the grooves into which they should go. One does wonder if anybody actually tried to assemble one before it went on the market.

I'm also making up much better instructions in my head to assemble it . It's like the supplied instructions are for another kit .especially around the air intakes ....ignore the kit instructions  completely and notice that the parts have lug's and notches (not shown on the instructions ) that (after fetteling) make assembly easier.....

It's that bit that I am working on at the moment. I have managed to disaasemble the bits I got wrong. It's not obvious (to me at any rate) that the bits are meant to form the intake tunnel and not, as I assumed, to blank off the holes into the wing and fuselage insides. I think that I will try fitting the intake to the lower portion of the wing and build the tunnel to fit that. I have more than a sneaking suspiction that once assembled it might foul the upper half of the fuselage. Watch this space...
