GordonD
Aged 50? God, that shows how long ago the programme was on. I read somewhere that on his last birthday Wil Wheaton (Wesley Crusher) became older than Patrick Stewart was in the first season of Next Gen. Mike
Damn, I saw this on Reddit the other day, but didn't put 2 + 2 together til now. Apparently he was born with one poor kidney that gave him lots of trouble, which explains his small size - I thought he was a kid when the show was on. I think he had a couple of kidney transplants, and his body just couldn't cope with it anymore. Poor fella
Stephen
I'm gutted, he was great on the show, especially when they came up with the idea of him in Starfleet. Very sad.
lasermonkey
Very sad indeed. I liked DS9 and thought he was great in it. While Nog initially was not much more than comic relief, the character developed into one of the more complex and interesting ones and ended up being one of my favourites. An old friend of mine was born with kidney problems and despite a very successful transplant in his late twenties, he didn't quite make it to fifty. It's no age at all, really. Paul Bradley
Sad, indeed. The PTSD episodes in the last season were excellent science fiction.
