airfixpeter
Finally I have an excuse to build this one not exactly the best kit but I have plenty of old spare PE hanging around that I could use some where. I discovered that I had started the cockpit but as I will try and unpick it and repaint so I hope this constitutes the 25% rule. Take no notice of the box blue thunder is in there or so the big label says. On with the pictures Edited December 8, 2019 by peterairfix
Corsairfoxfouruncle
Considering the size of the kit and the P/E i think you're good on the 25% rule.
Hockeyboy76
Oooo 80s tv classic.
Brad
Cool. I read that Roy Schneider only did Blue Thunder so he wouldn't have to do anything for Jaws 3D. 1

The TV show was a spin off from the classic Movie with Roy Scheider, of note they waited til all the filming was done before doing the loop stunt in the modified Gazelle, just in case. Caerbannog
Nice - the kit is a copy of the Monogram kit from the 80's. I passed mine on because of the scale (I wanted to get the Aoshima 1:48 kit but waited too long....)and because of the canopy: The plastic parts were frosted on my kit . Should make a nice display piece with some elbowgrease 👍 Rene
airfixpeter
Here's the first part of updating the cockpit I found some spare PE seat belts so it's off with the moulded ones and the PE ones added

airfixpeter
One cockpit finished and one set of rotor blades nearly done and started on the fuselage inside and the windows have been masked up.

airfixpeter
Mojo restored and on reopening the box I found out that I have completed the main rotor blades.
airfixpeter
Finally got the thing sewn up but it left me with a few gaps to be filled and I have it sanded and nearly ready for painting. And the canopy has been masked.
airfixpeter
Finally now looking what it's meant to look like and it's been rather forgiving as the canopy just needed to hold it down.

airfixpeter
For what this kit is I did enjoy the build and as I have always wanted a blue thunder I quite happy with the results
Corsairfoxfouruncle
Excellent addition to the Gallery and i still think that looks like one of the koolest Helo’s ever built.
