1/72 Air Seychelles Twin Otter

Recommended Posts

It's been some time since I've posted any civvie stuff on BM.

I'd like to say I've been to the Seychelles but that would just be wishful thinking....

Here's my take on the Matchbox Twin Otter dressed up in the markings of Air Seychelles :

I started using the markings on the Nazca decal sheet but I couldn't live with the join line on the tail markings. Although I tried to paint over, my efforts to match the colours failed miserably - there's a surprise !

I ended up taking the easy way out by painting the markings with home-made masks 😋

Hope you can feel the sand between your toes ?

Those are cracking photos of a cracking model Mike! Looks like she needs tying down before the tropical storm brewing in the background hits!

Lovely stuff, now get cracking on something Latin American....!! :)

Thanks Keith.

How about a 1/72 707 in full Ecuatoriana bling? (Five months won't be long enough!) 🤣

That's excellent!

Always love seeing these civil aircraft on Britmodeller (especially in 1/72 scale).

The colourful tail markings are particularly well done.

Love it.

Very smart. I'm sure your painted fin looks much better than the decals would have done.

Beautiful model of a wonderful aircraft. The home-made masks worked a treat.

After flying on one a few years ago, I was surprised to learn that Viking build new Series 400 aircraft in Calgary.

Absolutely brilliant - hats off to your painting and masking. It's not easy to do, but really what is the point of wrangling with decals the size of duvet covers 🤯

Mmmm.... Twotter. Lovely work on my fave small civvy. One 'like' is not enough. It needs to be on floats though, because a Twin Otter on floats is a delight.

:)

One day I'll get my correction set up and going so that I can do the half dozen in the stash that I have decals for. One day.

Psst. Do one on floats. ;)

Superb job! One, if not the, best Twin Otter I've seen so far...

Sure we can feel the sand....but hey, doesn't it just call for a small diorama!

Cheers

That's one stunning Twin Otter you have there. The combination of overall white with vibrant colours, as well as a hint of black, really makes it jump out at the viewer.

Matchbox certainly gave us some interesting models back in the day. So glad the likes of Revell still market them so todays younger modellers can have fun too.
