brainy
My Spitfire came with a damaged canopy bullet-proof shield (part no. 103). I have contacted Revell about this sometime ago but have received no response. Does anyone know how/where I can obtain a spare replacement, please?

Failing a response from Revell, would it be possible for one to acquire a Tamiya "spare" from their Mk.IX kit?

The Tamiya canopy is a slightly different shape where it meets the fuselage so a bit of work will be needed to make it fit. I used one on my Revell kit which I converted to a V. I may have the original Revell canopy somewhere. I can take a look if you'd like. Carl

You could obtain one, you could even (as seen above) adapt one to fit, but it would be the wrong shape for a I, II or early V. That difference in contour is not a difference between Tamiya's opinion and Revell's opinion of what a a single standard of Spitfire windscreen looks like. It is two manufacturers each accurately reproducing two very different windscreens.

I had a quick look in my spares box and didn't see it there but I'll check around my bench some more for you. Carl
