My Spitfire came with a damaged canopy bullet-proof shield (part no. 103). I have contacted Revell about this sometime ago but have received no response. Does anyone know how/where I can obtain a spare replacement, please?

Failing a response from Revell, would it be possible for one to acquire a Tamiya "spare" from their Mk.IX kit?

The Tamiya canopy is a slightly different shape where it meets the fuselage so a bit of work will be needed to make it fit. I used one on my Revell kit which I converted to a V.

I may have the original Revell canopy somewhere. I can take a look if you'd like.

You could obtain one, you could even (as seen above) adapt one to fit, but it would be the wrong shape for a I, II or early V. That difference in contour is not a difference between Tamiya's opinion and Revell's opinion of what a a single standard of Spitfire windscreen looks like. It is two manufacturers each accurately reproducing two very different windscreens.

Thank you for your comment, Dave Wilko.

That would be very kind, Carl, if you could look.

I had a quick look in my spares box and didn't see it there but I'll check around my bench some more for you.
