mbdesignart
Whilst doing a bit of research I came across this footage of the start of the 1970 London-Mexico World Cup Rally. Pity it's in black and white but as you can see everything back then was so much simpler, different times. http://www.aparchive.com/metadata/youtube/200d71cf56e14269aea22923435824a3 If anyone has photos of car #67 Peugeot 504 run by the British Army please add them to this post, thanks. Marco F.
Thanks so much for sharing this classic film...it was a pleasure to have a look at it... So sorry I can't give you any information regarding the Peugeot 504. I always liked the 504 it was a great car, looked fine but always was a workhorse, that's why they all moved to Afrika or were used until they died...a pitty... JeroenS
What a way to go to a football match! Lovely '60's style commentary.
mbdesignart
Just a thought if anyone has a copy of the Graham Robson book on the rally are there any photos of car No.67 'The Fusilier' driven by E.F. Moorat/John Shaw? UPDATE: I've had a reply via FB on the contents of the World Cup Rally book and there is only the briefest mention of Edward Moorat, it appears this car went under the radar. But if anyone has any photos they would be appreciated. Edited September 14, 2019 by mbdesignart more info added
Noel Smith
Moto Bitz has a resin conversion transit available to rework the Belkits Rally Ford Escort into this car and also sell separate sets of decals

Not sure how you'd rework a Transit into an Escort???🤔 Unless you used a big hammer😂
MR2Don
At least two things there you don't see now - Austin Maxi and "Welcome to Boulogne". I remember following it via Motoring News!
Noel Smith
Transit was a typo on my part......transit should have read transkit. And you are quite right ( and you should know) I did get the car totally wrong and stand corrected. Whoops! I bought your car trailer parts kit at MK show. Looks good although I have not started doing anything with it yet. A mate of mine built the Heller Citroen Van and used your Guinness livery decals on it. He made a good job of it. It looks really good and he said the decals went on well.

mbdesignart
Hi Nick, yes thanks, I've nearly finished the Anniversary London-Mexico Rally Escort, it should be at Telford. I've found an even better video of the EA Safari Rally, or should it be a Sunday afternoon jaunt in Africa?! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXGHetO_zS4 On the subject of the Peugeot looks like my client, after some searching, will be able to supply some images.
