My latest completion a long time in the making spent about 12 months on the shelf of doom just didn't have the mojo to finish it.

Italeri H-19 with the Rotorcraft Whirlwind HAR9 conversion and a few scratch aerials specific to the HAR9 operated on the Endurance.

Two very beautiful helicopters, nice work! The conversion kit is not available anymore, I guess?

Have dream’t of having a lovely pair of Whitlwinds like that for ages now. They are both very nice and deserve to be celebrated.

Cheers and well modelled.. Dave

There's something reassuring about the homely, workhorse lines of the Sikorsky H-19… er, Westland Whirlwind. Here, I'm reminded of two dependable housemaids, all dolled up for the Saturday outing.

It is a compliment! Your models look great, perfectly capturing the character that appealed to me as a boy, gluing together the old Revell 1:48th kit. Well done!

Kind regards,

Joachim

Superb job on both the Whirlwinds. What orange did you use for Protectors aircraft?

Pat

I used X104 Xtracolor International Orange for the HAR 1

I don't think they are unfortunately

You seldom see any of the Italeri new-tool 1/72 early helos built, and they are all pretty nice kits- you have done a great job with these two!

Had to resort to 'proper' modelling to make my HAR10 - plasticard and body filler !

A beautiful duo of Whirlwinds.  Both have great colour schemes (two of my favourites on British helicopters).  The Whirlwind seems to be a seriously under-kitted aircraft.

A pair of superb Whirlwinds. I love the contrast of the orange on the HAR1 vs the dayglo red on the HAR9. They both look spot on colour-wise and are finished beautifully.

Lovely job!

A terrific pair of Whirlwinds - alongside the Wessex may favorite types. The colour schemes look just right and the hard work paid off.
