Douglas A-4 Skyhawk STGB Chat

Sigh ... I don't know what happened to the last few weeks, but I need to catch up. So I' m working on all four of my Skyhawks at once. The contrast between the various cockpits is marked. Even the two Italeri kits (A-4M and OA-4M) are quite different.

That is the interesting thing about building different kits of the same aircraft type, it shows up how the different manufacturers tackle the same things.

  • 2 weeks later...

I went and pawed through my TA-4J Aggressor boxing yesterday morning after work.  Tempting.  I need to get out of this work schedule and see how I'm looking for time so I can decide between this or a Libyan MiG-21 for Africa.  :hmmm:

Can't work out the origin of this boxing by Revell, Italeri/Esci?

I think its from Italeri originally, it matches one being built in the GB by @Anatol Pigwa, it has the LAU-3 rocket pod that his build has.

Did a little mock up tonight to get a feel for how things are going to fit up.  The Hase E definitely fits better.  The Classic Airframes TA is going to take a fair bit of patience, clean up and fitting as it builds up.

Now to think about what I want to do...:hmmm:

The Revell and the Italeri kit are virtually identical, as far as the sprues are concerned. (I can speak with some authority having build both).

The decals are more detailed in the Revell kit. I recommend it.

Looks like 1983 Italeri A-4M was the origin mold.

These are new decal sheets by a company Im not familiar with. They're for the A-4C, could they know something ? Would Hasegawa be re-releasing the early models ?

They are very nice looking sheets Dennis, very like Furball or Fightertown in their design.

I really hope that Hasegawa release the C again as the only one that has been available for a while is the M, and they're not that easy to get hold of either.

Hi all !

A juste read some of you happen to have more decal sheets than kits.

Maybe , some guys would like to get rid of this one :

Twobobs ref 48-132 , or maybe another aggressor sheet for scooters.

Thanks in advance and best regards to you all.
