sniperUK
The last Canberra to fly in RAF service was Belfast built PR.9 XH131 ,the flight happened on the morning of 31st July 2006 when the last three PR.9s in service were flown from Marham to Kemble with 131 landing at 11:58 . In 2011 XH131 was ,with the help of the Heritage Lottery Fund bought by the Ulster Aviation Society and with a willing team of volunteers dismantled and transported to the UAS collection at Maze/Long Kesh outside Belfast. This is the Airfix 1/48th kit finished using Tamiya and Hataka paints and Decals from Model Alliance and Xtradecal as the ones provided in the kit are rubbish. 69808619_10216807010106749_7093743676005810176_n by Tony Osborne, on Flickr 69989767_10216806889983746_7077662914722660352_n by Tony Osborne, on Flickr 69844205_10216806890263753_2112278166146908160_n by Tony Osborne, on Flickr 69498098_10216806890623762_549269619295125504_n by Tony Osborne, on Flickr Edited September 4, 2019 by sniperUK 47

chillaton
Very nice, you're right about the decals, I asked Airfix to send me a replacement set and they were worse that the originals!

They are just not accurate, the colours are way off and some, like the warning triangles, are massively oversized, closer to 32 than 48.
petetasker
Beautifully done - love the PR9 and the hemp scheme.

Ruskin Air Services
I had just started to work for Anglian water that year and was based at the waterworks in Marham village so I got to see XH131 give its final display at Marham families day a few days before it flew to Kemble, let's say it was a very "spririted" display!

Andy Dyck
I never like this aircraft in real life, because it looks a bit clumsy, but you done justice to it on the model. That’s spot on! Nice subtle weathering and all in all perfect. May be I will change my mind about this type!🧐 all the best Andy Edited September 4, 2019 by Andy Dyck
stringbag
That's one hell of a result. The subtle weathering and excellent paint job make that one of the best PR.9 models I've seen. Thanks for posting. Chris.

mackem01
Well done, that's one tasty Cranberry. Sadly we'll not see her likes again on the frontline.

sanfrandragon
Very nice! Not a plane I know anything about but you've done justice to it's sleek lines. Hard to believe they were flying up until 2006. Nice weathering and an interesting colour. The cockpit and pilot look good too, did you dip the canopy in Future/Klear or something? Dr. Quack
Always liked the Canberra, especially the PR.9 in this scheme, and this is a suitably impressive build. Superb finish. When I grow up I hope my skills reach this standard! Wistful Quack (retd)
