airfixpeter
As I have just had this one delivered i my original choice has been reserved for another build its one of those kits that I have wanted to try but never got around to it. I won't be starting quite yet as I want to pimp it up a bit as it's a bit basic. Courtesy of a swap from @Lawzer. bigbadbadge
Very nice indeed, I have been hankering after a Sunderland lately and we are being spoiled with three. Good luck with your build. All the best Chris

JOCKNEY
Well it wouldn't be a proper Flying Boats and Floatplanes GB without a Sunderland, welcome aboard ! Cheers Pat
jrlx
Welcome to the GB, Peter! That's a classic Airfix kit! Looking forward to seeing it taking shape! Cheers Jaime
PeterB
Hi Peter, I persuaded my parents to buy me this kit as a Christmas present when it first came out - cost 10/6 I think. I still have it though it could do with a re-paint! It certainly is basic compared with the newer versions, but still looks nice. The only "improvement" I made was to add rigging to the floats from stretched sprue. I will be looking forward to seeing what you do with it as it brings back many happy memories. Thom216
The only thing I don't like about self adhesive PE is the fuzz that invariably shows up just as it's about to go on...

I always remove the self-adhesive stuff and simply use CA. It's more controllable and cleaner.
airfixpeter
Made a start although the PE set is for the italeri kit i have used it anyway just to give a bit of a lift.
airfixpeter
Added some more detail to the cockpit sides not the right parts for the kit but it's better than having none at all. And now for all those windows.
jrlx
Good start, Peter! Good choice using the PE set, even if it isn't for the kit. Cheers Jaime

airfixpeter
For all those hoping to see this finished I apologise as clot features chucked the box out with a lot of rubbish without checking first.
