Mig88
Hello everyone! Back from holidays... Here is my Airfix 1:72 Blohm & Voss Bv 141B-02 which represents V10 (10th prototype), NC+RA, with the Erprobungstelle (Test Centre) at Rechlin, Germany, in 1941. I built this kit in 2001 and in fact it was my second go at this kit, the first being built in the early 1980s. I added detail to the cockpit using references of the Fw 189 as a guide since this area was similar. The main scheme and matt varnish was applied with airbrush. The RLM70 is not correct in tone as I only found out later what it should really be. I forgot to remove dust from the kit before taking the photos! As usual, thanks for looking and all comments are welcome Miguel
Adam Poultney
Forgot that Airfix did this kit. Remember if it's any good?
Graham Boak
Basic Airfix standard of the time. Riveted, a bit clumsy, largely vacant interiors with thick walls. If these things bother you... 1

Mig88
Thank you very much to all 4 hours ago, Adam Poultney said: Forgot that Airfix did this kit. Remember if it's any good? Graham Boak's reply basically sums it up. I seem to remember the fit of the clear parts wasn't good either. Yet, as far as I know, it's still the only option in 1:72nd scale. 1 hour ago, jhutchi said: I mean, who designs something like that!! And this was the neater design!!! There were several design projects with the cockpit pod in more unusual positions, for example on the wingtip!! The whole idea was to give the crew a better and more unrestricted view since this was intended mostly to be a reconnaissance plane. SoftScience
This is the Airfix kit?!?!? WOW!!!! Did you replace the glass with vacuform? If not, then how did you get the frames looking so sharp?
Nanond
Beautifully done. It's hard to believe that is the Airfix BV141. Fantastic job!

Uncle Pete
22 hours ago, jhutchi said: I mean, who designs something like that!! Really! You just look at it and say, "Why?" Did some bright spark say, "Let's design a plane with all the problems built in from the start."? Nice job on the kit, though, Mig88, looks great... Ungainly but great!

This is one of few kits I actually troubled myself to masking the frames! Miguel
Winenut
Nice to see! Well done indeed I did one in overall RLM02 a few years ago It's a simple kit but it's such a unique aircraft it always looks interesting.....top job!
Mark4700
Very nice build. This has to be one of the most unusual aircraft from WW2.
noelh
Interesting and almost unique aircraft. Nice build. I have one in my stash unopened and still in its polythene wrap. A saw one built though.
opus999
Awesome!! You did a fantastic job on such a fascinating aircraft. I built this same kit when I was in high school, and while I still have it, I am too embarrassed to post it! Great work!
