Halifax pictures - 158 Squadron

Recommended Posts

Prompted by a recent thread I am wondering how many pictures exist of 158 Squadron Halifax aircraft. I am particularly looking for Hercules-engined ones but Merlin ones are also of interest.

I have a couple of Halifax books and a few random pictures but very few of 158 Squadron ones.

So, if you have a good memory or a good reference system please help me out!

Ed, when I 've wrote "Squadron 158" into google some photos of both Merlin and Hercules driven Halifaxes appeared - and you wrote "very few"....

So I expect that you search for a particular machine(s) perhaps?

J-W @JWMand Troy @Troy Smith - thanks for those replies. Thanks for looking.  I had not seen that thread which is very interesting and helpful.

My post lacked specificity in that what I am looking for is side-on photographs of the fuselage showing the codes.

Interestingly in all of those links there is one partial code and dozens of nose views!

OK, I know what you mean, but anyway there is info that Zola and later Zombie were NP.Z, in description of individual crew member thre are two more machines linked with their serials  and on photo of flak damage it is said NP.F/ HR837...

Here is about NP.C http://aircrewremembered.com/john-evans.html

and NP C http://aircrewremembered.com/reavill-ralph.html....

So maybe not photos but only links between serials and code letters...

Cheers
