Aichi E13A1 Jake Floatplane--Japanese WWII

Recommended Posts

Nice idea but I already have a ton of models to finish and then there's my life, wife, house, grandchildren, lawn

bicycling, not to mention my fly fishing and fly tying that are on hold. Oh did I mention my DSLR that's gathering

dust and my lack of knowledge on creating water. Sorry but there just isn't enough time to even consider that.---John

Thanks for the compliments. I will give credit where credit is due. I owe a lot

to Tamiya Extra Thin Cement. It has totally changed my way of building. I only

wish I had had this way back in the 60s. I now use different approaches to

building but there is now much better fits and a lot less gaps and putty.  I

can't say enough for this one product. I also use their putty and paints. My

tried and true Model Masters paints have not been up to snuff for many years.

They served me well way back but even the color selection is going then way of

the dinosaur.---John

Thanks, I have the cowling built and need to sand and paint it. I also found a better set

of Hasegawea kit decals in great shape. So that will speed things up. I am now modeling

ZI-21 off the seaplane tender Kamikawa Maru in Malaya 12-7-1941, overall gray color

still.---John

Thanks but no longer smart looking. I goofed in a BIG way. I went to gloss cote for decaling

and failed to note the humidity was at 82%. The high humidity caused my gloss to become

a flat frosted look. I will hold off and retry Sunday when the humidity drops to 63%. One more

reason I have no"love" for Florida's weather. It is nice to ride a bicycle year round but the humidity

and bugs are a turn off to me.---John
