Attacker F1, WA496 /101-J, 800 Sqn, FAA, 1951

Recommended Posts

This Attacker was part of the HMS Eagle air wing in the early 1950s. The type had a fairly brief career with the Royal Navy, withdrawing from front line units in 1954, however RN Reserve squadrons continued to fly it until 1957. The Attacker was unique among British jet fighters in having a tail wheel, which made it difficult to operate from carriers.

Huge thanks to @perdu for the canopy and decals. I also used some extra decals and added a few aerials, etc, and scooped out the cockpit and wheel wells. Other than that, pretty much oob!

What an ugly - sorry....- but still interesting bird it is.... and you did it justice by building a really nice model. Well done.

Cheers,

Michael

Probably one of those that looks better in the air...kinda liked the look with the belly tank

Thanks for the comments chaps! With a little extra work and some random spares to add, these ancient Frog/Novo kits are actually fun to build and seem to look reasonable.
