Admiral Puff
Italeri does (did?) a Manx Norton, 1:12 scale, I think; an ex-Pocher mould. Airfix did one, a BSA(?, may have been a Matchless), can't recall the scale, but not that easy to find nowadays, and of course MFH does a big Brough Superior and a Vincent Black Shadow, both superb kits but expensive! Marco F.
The Italeri Norton is 1:9 scale. Italeri also produced a Triumph 3T military version also 1:9 Revell did a Triumph Tiger in 1:8 Marco F
roginoz
Dragon/Esci/Italeri put out a number of 1:9 scale bikes of the Axis powers - solo Zundapp, solo BMW, sidecar BMW, also, as mentioned above, the Norton, and a Harley-Davidson WLA, although not noted as such on the box, simply "US Army Motorcycle". Copyright laws, presumably. On the bench, to accompany the above collection, - Dragon 1:9 Kettenkrad Sd.Kfs.2 .........Gonna need a lot of sand-coloured paint......and space......! The Italeri Manx Norton is , as already stated , 1/9 scale & it's ex-Protar rather than Pocher . They also do a Norton Commando 750 production racer in 1/9 , also Protar . The Airfix BSA was around 1/16 scale I believe & was a C15 250 single . Airfix also produced an Ariel Arrow in a similar scale . Finally , Heller do a 1/8 Norton Commando
Marco F.
Shame on me bcs I forgot to mention the Heller Norton... I got this kit in my stash. And Italeri is offering the Norton Commando PR, ex Protar. And MPC produced a Triumph chopper in 1:12, Im not sure if round2 did a rerelease. malpaso
Saw the Italeri Manx Norton in Hobbycraft the other day so they’re currently around. Matchbox did a Vincent Black Shadow too, Revell May have repopped it; good luck finding one though...
Fastcat
Hi Chris, In addition to the above, Protar did a Matchless G50 and AJS 7R in 1/9th scale, both the same bike but different colours and both now out of production so only available s/hand or via eBay. They also did a Greeves Scrambler. Gunze Sangyo did a mixed media BSA Gold Star in 1/12th also o.o.p. SMTS did an all metal Goldie in 1/16th, also a Norton Commando. The Triumph 3HW was also originally released as a civilian version in red and chrome but hasn't made a reappearance. Someone released a metal Bonneville in 1/8th I think, plus a Vincent and Goldie. These were some years back and when they occasionally come up for sale, go for big money. I think that that's about it. Sad, isn't it for a once great bike industry. Mumbly
I have a “started” Protar AJS 7R, but have yet to work out how to undo the over zealous glueing. I got this off eBay, but they are selling around the £100+ mark if pristine. Plan is to do some photo etch myself for the chains, sprockets and engine at some stage.
