Where have all the Aliens gone? Scratching my SHADO.

Where have all the Aliens gone? Scratching my SHADO.

I'm not into sci-fi models and I can't remember watching 'UFO' when it was on the telly, but I was sort of press-ganged into a groupbuild on another site and had to choose something. For various reasons, rather than the full three months, I only had six weeks to build it. I managed it in five weeks and enjoyed it enormously.

It is entirely scratch-built in 1/48. This is the build log:

I hope you like it.

(Incidentally, aliens dress in orange and white jumpsuits apparently).

It looks the business. And that's good enough for me. Like the setting with the Alien body too.

Apparently there is a cheque in the post from Nigeria. I may get back to you.....

Regards

Pete

Thanks Mate.

Just let me know when the funds arrive and I'll start the production line.

Excellent stuff, very impressive scratch building!

I got the box for the studio scale Mobile out this morning, opened it up, took some large pieces of resin out, put them back in the box and put it back on the shelf :) One day...

Fantastic job Gorby ....

Thanks mates. As virtually no one was commenting* I was starting to wonder if there was something wrong with it. Thanks very much for taking the time to comment.

* Not to say that Pete is a virtual nobody, but you get my drift (hopefully before I dig myself any deeper into this hole).

just noticed Gorby's name in the WIP

Does that mean that I is famous at long last.

What happened to the 'rich and ....' bit?

I rarely look in this forum, but the title caught my eye, because my son used to love watching UFO and Space 1999 (not any more.....he's 52!) So then I looked at the WIP and those wheels and tracks, and a film title from the 60/70's came to mind, "Morgan. A suitable case for treatment", only substitute Morgan with Gorby. I take my hat off to you Mark (if I was wearing one). Superb scratch building, but keep taking the tablets.

John.

Very nice piece of work there. My dad and I used to watch UFO back in the seventies when I came back to live with him for a short while after uni. I think he only watched for the female crew of the Moonbase

Yes, it's a fine model from the Harington-Straker Film Studio.
