Nocoolname
Hi AFV folks! I’d like to build a Panzer IV Short Barrelled version in 1/48 and was wondering whether it would be easy to modify the Tamiya 32518 kit or would it be a bit more involved than that? Thanks in advance! Noccol!
Troy Smith
I suspect it will depend on your AMS, the Tamiya kits are H and J models, and the short barrelled versions are earlier Pz IV's .... a quick search https://henk.fox3000.com/pz4.htm A brief read, suggests you may get pretty close to a PZ.IV F1 from the Tamiya kit. A quick look at the linked site shows there are lots of small changes.... this review of the Tamiya PzIV J kit may give you some pointers as to what details are on the kit.. https://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/48/tamiya/tam32518.htm Others will know more. Silver Fox
Belcher Bits do a early Panzer IV conversion set. I have used their Panzer III set to make a IIIe and found it well worth the money. http://www.belcherbits.com/lines/battalion/bt8.htm
Nocoolname
Thanks both! I’ll take a look at the links and AMS and see whether it’s worth it. Cheers Nocool!
