WV908
Pilot was Cliff Spink, as said confirmed unhurt. The port undercarriage of PL983 collapsed upon landing, sending the aircraft onto it's nose. Fortunately the aircraft fell back the right way and I'd hesitate to think what would have happened if she'd flipped onto her back. NoSG0
Ouch, She is right up on her nose in that screen capture in post 7. Well, I hope she will fly again. Glad the pilot is ok.
Eric Mc
Was looking at it perform at Duxford legends only a few weeks ago. Hope she returns to the skies without too much delay.
bentwaters81tfw
She has bent a wing spar. Will take a bit longer to fix now.
DaveWilko
This is John Romain's personal Spit. The aircraft's history and his involvement with it can be found here: https://vintageaviationecho.com/spitfire-prxi-pl983/
Mike
As always, very glad the pilot is ok That bent spar and the fact that the engine will need a thorough check after the massive torque it probably suffered will keep her out of the sky for a while. A very expensive shame
