Dave_R
Hi All, I wanted to build a German AFV for the D-Day GB (to go alongside a Churchill and a Sherman), so the plan is to build the Tamiya Stug IV to the best I can for the Blitz Build and then transfer it to D-Day GB where I'll incorporate it into a Normandy vignette of some kind - still to be decided. Here's the sprue shots:- It's an oldish Tamiya kit, but I expect it go together fairly easily. This is the vehicle I want to represent, a Stug IV of 17 Panzer Grenadier Division, Normandy 1944. ... so roll on Saturday. Dave.
vppelt68
Great! To be historically correct, and not just politically correct, the unit was actually 17. SS-Panzergrenadierdivision. Your Stug should fit nicely in same diorama with an US Sherman but not with a British Churchill, I'm afraid. V-P

Dave_R
Hi All, This is what I got done today. So now the Blitz build part is over I'm going to continue the build in this thread - tidy the slightly unfinished bit's and and erm... do something else with it that adds extra D-Day-ness to it. Dave_R
Hi All, Here's how the base building has been progressing:- ...a polystyrene and paper piece of bocage, ...a papier mache covering. ...an earth covering, ...static grass, I'm not going to have enough time to finish this properly - I bit off more than I could chew with all the other builds I'm doing. I'll push on and it'll be the best I can do by Sunday. Dave.

Robert Stuart
Like the camo on the figures Dave (I can see them). Think I'd concentrae on the Churchill, but hope you can get both across the line on Sunday.
Badder
Hi again Dave, Another smart and rapid piece of work. Great camo on the Stuggie and the figures look great too from what I can see. I see the plastic shaker bottle has been out again. Certainly a handy tool and as you say, pennies rather than loads-o-money. Funnily enough I have both the Churchill and this Stug in my stash, with PE for both, but I doubt I'll even touch them for another 3 or 4 yrs. Looking forward to seeing this finsihed, Reargaurds, Badder
