Hi All,

This is my first of Two planned RNZAF builds.

With the gracious assent of our GB Host, I would like to add my number 1

build log prior to "kick off":D

I started this Kit quite some time (read a few years), but as time

and information came along, the build sort of stalled.

So this is where it's at currently - have to replace exhausts

the aircraft (all three) were operated by 14 Squadron based at Ohakea as advanced trainers circa 1942-43

The name "Umslopogaaas" is a Character associated with the Allan Quatermain series.

See you on Saturday, more info then.

Hi Dennis,

NZ3008 HQ-B and furthest P40 HQ-A - NZ3007 "Magnolia Mufflewort"are in

RAF Temperate Land Scheme, albeit in US Manufactured colours.

RNZAF Museum records the top colours as

DuPont Dark Earth 71-009

DuPont  Green 71-013

Lower colour DuPont Sky

Roundels in DuPont Insignia Colours

I have some swatches with the DuPont colours taken off NZ3031

a 15 Squadron P40E-1

Middle Aircraft HQ-Q NZ3036, is in a version of RNZAF Pacific Scheme -

this is the aircraft for my second P 40E-1 Build (yet to be posted)

Regards
