Jb65rams
With the release of Airfix new tool Buccaneer approaching, I was wondering what to do with the old boxing sitting in the stash. A blitzbuild seems the perfect solution. Plan to build out of the box, wheels up and will live with the raised panel lines.

Jb65rams
10:56. Ready to make a start. Will be building in two 12hr periods. Initial impression at that it is going to take me longer that thought as every part looks like it needs some cleanup!

Jb65rams
@Jinxman Thanks. Enjoy Bruntingthorpe, its been a number of years since I have been. 12:28. Spent most of my time cleaning up various pieces, and constructing a stand.
SleeperService
I've just finished the major clean-up on mine so I share your pain. Hope it keeps going well.
Jb65rams
14:15 Had to break out the heavy guns to get the fuselage together! Next step is to break out the filler.
Jinxman
You have my respect for progressing this - seeing what you've already achieved is most impressive.
AdrianMF
I didn't expect that to come together so quickly! Nice work. Regards, Adrian
Jb65rams
Final update for the night. Cockpit decal and crew painted and seated. Was hoping to get it primed tonight, but don't think that will happen, still some prep to do.
SleeperService
A fraction of the clamping I used on the 48th version and it still didn't work. This is looking very nice though, impressive progress.
Jb65rams
Day 2. England already lost their first wicket of the morning. I was able to get some primer on last thing yesterday. As of this morning, this is what she looks like.

Jb65rams
Main painting finished, used Lifecolor UA229 Portland stone, was the nearest match I had, maybe a bit too light (lets just say its faded alot) Progress may slow this afternoon the nearer England get victory - 121 still required at lunch 6 wickets standing.
stevej60
Well when I looked over the proposed builds for this GB I thought this by far the most ambitious, glad to see it progressing so well, keep up the good work!
Jb65rams
Thanks @stevej60, it is a relatively simple kit, it just needs a lot of cleanup, dry fitting & filling. Looking forward to getting the new tool for next years Buccaneer STGB. Picture doesn't show a lot of progress, but the paint work has been tidied up, leading edges painted and given a coat of humbrol gloss vanish in prep for decals.

Jb65rams
Ben Stokes did his best to stop me finishing, but I am done with about 2 hours to spare. Glad is over, but is has got me looking forward to Airfix's new tool. 4
SleeperService
Fantastic job in any time scale, stunning in a Blitz Build. I like it a lot. It's be a brave person to challenge the colour choice, I bet it's a dead match for one of them.
