Thant
Hello guys! Greetings from Yangon, Myanmar. I just finished this nice Thud from Hobby Boss in 1/48 scale. F-105D is the fighter bomber used by U.S Air Force in the early days of Vietnam War and was later removed from combat due to high rate of loss. It was the biggest single engine combat aircraft and capable of Mach 2 speed. The kit is a nice one from Hobby Boss and the surface details are good. Built straight out of box. The landing gear bays and landing gears are scratch detailed using small polystyrene rods and wires. Painted with Mr. Color and Tamiya acrylics. Weathering by AK. I hope you guys like this. 🙂 If you are using Facebook, here is the link to my page. https://www.facebook.com/myanmarairmodeller/ Edited August 18, 2019 by Thant forgot my facebook link.

whiskey
Oh wow. I love how rich the tan and the two green colors are. It almost gives that "after-rain" look to it. Very well done sir.

exdraken
wow! a very nice build! one question though, would the nozzle petals/ brakes open up like this on the ground engine off? (I assume as the nose cone is open)

Baldy
Superbly finished and weathered Thud Thant - Love it! Regarding the petals, they did relax on the ground and were often seen with the lower petal drooped due to it's weight. Never seen a picture with all of the petals wide open like that - not even with the afterburner on so don't think that ever happened - but maybe if maintenance was being carried out? Anyway, it's your model and it's still beautiful. Cheers Malcolm

I decided to go for an open petals otherwise I have to cut some parts on the root of these petal. After all, its a scale model. I assume that it looks more lively and beautiful this way.
