SR71 Blackbird Italeri 1/72

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

thanks for your positive feedback

painting operation was :

-1st coat of gunze black tire H77 on all the model

-some panels painted with tamiya nato black to add shades of black on the model

- mottling   with thinned rlm 74 (80% of tamiya thinner)

-vertical stripes and panel lines covered with rlm74

A this step, I apply spots of liquid mask" revell color stop" with foam

once it dries, I cover the model with mottling spot of tan, light gray, midnight blue ; heavily diluted

A special attention was done on leading/trailing wing edge, I apply red brown gunze in the aim to "burn" the surface

Some days later, I remove the color stop. The natural black color remains surrounded with shade of grey, tan, brown...

This is all for the painting operation

Last step , i apply light gray pigment on relief , recessed lines, rivets and ocre/brown pastel powder on area around engines and exhaust

sepia oil wash is also used

that all!
