1:48 Lockheed F117 Nighthawk Farewell Flight

Recommended Posts

This is my 50th build which was a present from my wife. The academy kit is quite basic and does need some enhancing. I used Eduard PE and some scratch building and the pilot was from PJ Models.  Painted with Vallejo. The base was designed for me by Coastal kit display bases.

The full build can be followed on:

Stunning model and presentation!

I can't believe how soon these were retired, they must still be almost immune to air defences, especially in less advanced, sandy target areas.

Nice model and presentation indeed!

By the way, there is strong evidence that this beauty is back in service. Combat aircraft magazine did an article on this (may 2019).

A wonderful representation, my friend. It's a real tribute to your build and paint skills.

Looking at the underside, there is a bit of ambiguity about which nation flew this airframe.... Germany or somewhere Eastern European, perhaps? Can anyone shed any light on this subject?

Cheers.

Chris.

Really well done in that flashy and unusual "farewell" color scheme.

Is the flag pattern on the bomb paint or a decal?  Either way it must have been a bear to do!  Amazing work.

Thankyou, it's painted with star decals.

Fantastic presentation! At that angle with the bombs out I can only imagine it stalled 5000ft ago and it's actually falling tail first 😂😂😂

You've really made me think again about changing my projected build of this aircraft, might have to add some badly needed colour!

Great job Rich 👏👏👏

Hello RCMS,

This is a masterpiece and must have taken a lot of cafefull decalling.

The result is stunning. Regards, Orion.
