1/72 Martin B-26C Marauder, Hasegawa+Eduard+Miniworld

Recommended Posts

Hi, everybody! It's my next model from excellent "Hasegawa". I used two etched set (interior+exterior) from "Eduard" and "Miniworld's" gun barrels.

Absolute top class model!

Excellent choice of markings, superb paint job and clean assembly.

It really looks like a well-worn service aircraft.

This will be a sure winner at the next modelling contest.

You could have maybe added more weight effect to the wheels, given the fully loaded aircraft, but I guess, that's just a matter of taste.

Most impressive as always with your models! Did you use a silver pencil for the paint chips (I think I asked that before on your B-25)?

Yes. I use "Prismacolor" silver pencil.

Thanks for the comment, colleague. Yes, loaded wheels would be welcome. I couldn't find ready-made for this model. And I was too lazy to remake the wheels from the set.

Wow, that's one incredible-looking model. Did you draw inspiration from the famous well-worn "Flak Bait" airframe?

Yes, you are right. I had exactly this "Flak Bait" set and I drew inspiration from it. But I didn't want to use decals from Hasegawa - they are too thick, you know.

Fantastic Marauder build; one of the best I've seen.

A small correction on the historical caption, the 386th Bomb Group left Boxted in September 1943 and were based at Great Dunmow (also in Essex) until early October 1944.

Keep up the great work.

A little overdone on the panel lines for my taste, but another outstanding model from your bench Fuad.

Seeing your name on a post is always a guarantee of a beautifully finished model!

Fuad,

Yowzah! That is one beautfiul Marauder, and you have re-created the scuffing and paint chipping so common on the B-26 as Martin dispensed with applying  zinc chromate primer  to save weight and man hours, so the O.D. and neutral grey wore and chipped  excessively. Your usually outstanding fit and finish, too, but we have come to expect that consistent quality  from your builds! 👍

Another fantastic build Fuad. Seeing your models always inspires me to try harder on my next build..... then I fail miserably!🙄.  Still, I can always hope!!
