nimrod54
Here is my first completion for the FROG GB, a Modelcraft boxing of the original kit. I sanded off the raised detail and scribed the main panel lines, then continued the upgrade with a resin interior, a couple of RN 2inch rocket launchers and wheel set, a pair of Master pitots for the Sea Vixen and replaced the kit refuelling probe with a length of Albion Alloys tubing and a tip from a Master Buccaneer set. The underside was painted with Halfords Appliance White and the top colour was brush painted using Humbrol 123 EDSG. The decals and stencil data are a combination of the kit and a sheet from a Revell boxing of the Frog kit. I hope you like my attempt to improve this old kit. de Havilland Sea Vixen FAW.2 Royal Navy, 890 Squadron, XJ607:701-VL by John L, on Flickr by John L, on Flickr by John L, on Flickr by John L, on Flickr by John L, on Flickr by John L, on Flickr by John L, on Flickr by John L, on Flickr by John L, on Flickr by John L, on Flickr by John L, on Flickr

petetasker
Very nice - shows what can be done with an older technology kit.
canberraman
A beautiful Vixen and truly a silk purse from a sow's ear of a kit. Just goes to show what can be done if you have the skill - and you have it in abundance! Mark

Lord Riot
That's fantastic, especially given it's such an old kit. It's probably worth buying an old Frog or Eastern Express Sea Vixen after all if they can look this good.
djos
Would not call this an attempt, as this is very well executed, finish is superb Best regards Djordje
Duncan B
Wow, that is an excellent looking result. Frog got the shape of the Vixen spot on, shame none of the more modern 1/72 scale kits of the Vixen managed that. Well done Sir. keefr22
Lovely model John, it looks brilliant and so much better than the horribly shaped Xtrakit thing! Cracking job! Keith
