Don’t know what meds you are on mate but there must be steroids in there somewhere with the speed you are going with this build 👍

Ivan, a big dose of Modelcillin mate :o

Just spent an hour sculpting the seat cushions for the troop compartment out of Green Stuff.

Don't they look comfy...…. Not !

Even our 43's had better cushions than these wafer thin things :o

Enjoy

Thanks guys,  Motoring on with the build after a later one in the workshop

P1060889

Soldered up the .50 ammo box from the Eduard set

P1060891

P1060892

Now the Green Stuff has cured I'll get the rear troop seats sorted, they have some fancy PE brackets that need soldering up, after that the rear door mech need to be scratch

built, a pully and wire connecting the back door.

More later

Tamiya Part

This is what makes the forum special, modelers helping modelers, very inspiring! Beautiful build so far, how did you make that chain for the weapons mount? That is really cool, we used to use that pin to pry 40mm rounds off the bolt carrier, if memory serves. I can see why you like armor kits, lots of opportunities to detail them up with some scratch skills, which you have bundles of.

Cheers,

Anthony

Cheers Anthony,

The chains are a PE item made by Aber, they are really useful and come in different sizes and you get a load on the sheet.

They are used on most of my armour builds tbh.

Just soldering up the rear troop seat brackets, these are really fiddly :o

As they are on the PE fret

P1060901

And one done, camera is struggling to focus on them as they are so small.

Some sense of scale

4 per bench seat

Cheers Chaps,

No Gnomes were harmed in the making of this M113 ;)

Just making up the rear door mech, cable, pully and steel wire, its not finished yet

and need a bit more work yet but its almost done. some trimming once the glue has dried on the rear support.

It fits under the rear left of the seat,

In the corner of the door, bottom right.

The details, as I said before, I will say it again. The kit maker gives us the canvas, but the modeler makes it art, usually via the details and the paint/weather combination. Some of us (me) are still in the "paint by numbers" stage, others are Leonardo Da Vinci!

Cheers,

Cheers chaps,

I'm going to leave the side skirts off this one so the mounting holes need to marked and drilled out.

Using the kit skirts I drilled out the bolt holes and used the skirt as a template for the hull.

Still have the other side to do yet, but next I'm going to give the M2 Browning 0.50 machine gun a bash, was going to use the Tasca

plastic ones but where is the fun in that?

I'll have a bash at this little lot.

And the instructions.

This will be fun

I've  put a little pe on a 50 cal so i know the job in hand here ,very tiny and  impressive work on the handles ,it seems you've  got a lot of time on your hands after the sea king ,and it looks like your putting it to good use 😁
