Whitewolf
Does anybody do a decent 1/48 Osprey? By that I mean engraved etc
exdraken
Italeri does an 1/48 Osprey. it is engraved and the only game in town. some aftermarket upgrade items are available.
Artoor_K
Hobbyboss is going to release 1/48 Osprey. Italeri is an Old kit with one New sprue.
Whitewolf
I'll wait for the Hobbyboss kit and see what turns up as it were. I have little faith in them though after the mess they made of the YF23
paulsbrown
The Italeri can be made into a decent kit, although you'd have to go to town on it to really make it nice. Blackdog make some resin bits and there are some decal sheets with surface details. I built this one up in anticipation of the new release.
Whitewolf
That's really nice!!!
exdraken
If you want one now in 48th , it has to be the Italeri one If you wanna wait for a surely more detailed but not necessarily more accurate one, your choice! Not sure when it really will be released... you can never really say... afaik, no sprue-shots were shown yet....
paulsbrown
I'm pretty certain that whoever makes the next 48th it will be preferable to the older Italeri, I wouldn't build another one but I'd love a new kit of an USAF CV-22B to sit by my Marine one.
Whitewolf
Yes, I would really like a CV22 , see the aircraft from Mildenhall flying over here on a pretty regular basis.
One 48
Be great if Tamiya did an Osprey in 1/48, shudder to think what it would cost though !

bentwaters81tfw
I have heard it said the Italeri offering is 'challenging', or some sort of similar words. Lets hope HB do a good job.
Whitewolf
An example from Tamiya is a realistic possibility, possibly with differing version options? No doubt it would be the best, but as already mentioned it would also be Expensive!!
Skyhawk174
Well I too am hoping HB does a good job. Put the same crew that designed the A-6 and I would be a happy modeller. I have several Italeri kits and Cobra Company issued an update set to fix some of the issues. Lone Star has those moulds now so all is not lost. Hasegawa has several releases in 1/72nd and I was hoping to see that upscaled to 1/48th but the cost would be up there. Hmm, surprised Hasegawa haven't been there already
Julien
A member of my model club built the Italeri one, challenging was not the word I seem to remember!
