Thinning Ratio for Tamiya X-22 Gloss Clear

Hey Mohammad, I use 40% X-22 gloss to 60% Mr. Color Leveling Thinner with good results. I spray it on wet in an overlapping pattern, but not so heavily that it begins to run. After you finish, spray a mist coat of just Mr. Color Leveling Thinner.

I've read you can also use X-20A at the same 40/60 ratio with decent results if that's all you have available.

I don't use a fixed ratio, I always thin paints to about the thickness of 1% milk. Spray at 1 atm. Paint in thin coats to build coverage, making sure the paint is slightly wet when it hit the surface. You can check this by using a grazing light, so you see the paint hitting the surface. Once you've built up a good coverage in thin coats, make one final heavier--but not too heavy--gloss pass.

I don't know what airbrush you have, but I like to use a 0.5mm needle for clear and base coats.
