TEZ
Despite having a number of Harrier books none contain photos of the T.4(N) cockpit. To be more specific I’m not sure if the moving map display was retained in the front cockpit. What FRS.1 instrumentation was added in terms of the instrument panels? Shar2
Yes, the moving map was still fitted. From memory there wasn't much in the way of FRS-1 equipment fitted as they were purely used to train pilots to fly the Sea Harrier. The radar systems etc were fitted to Hunter T-8M's in which the pilots learned to fight. Only when they got into the SHAR did they combine the two disciplines.
TEZ
Thanks for that, just spoken to someone who worked on them and said the same thing - In fact he said at times the map was constantly moving even when on terra firma! Julien
There are some limited cockpit shots here: Aircraft cockpit had been partially gutted at this point.
