The Finnish  did very well with the Buffalo .

But not the -3 version, which was overweight, underpowered, and got decimated at Midway. The earlier, lighter version that the Finns had was undeniably better.

It's not correct comparison!

You show photo Late (serial) version J-20 Dream Model & photo Early (first prototype) J-20 Trumpeter:

Dream Models  need comparison with Late (serial) version J-20 Trumpeter:

18346_1_tru01664_2.jpg

18346_1_tru01664_1.jpg

Main difference, as You see, early & late, late  Trumpeter have - weapon bay and IRST under nose, also different influx wing, in early Trumpeter NO weapon bay & IRST!

Even if the new tooling didn't make any difference (and they do!), the decals alone are reason enough for me to get this model. Where else can you get those lo-vis PLAAF markings today?

In fact, it's about time someone released a sheet with detailed lo-vis Chinese markings for the likes of the J-20, J-10, J-16, J-11, squadron markings and badges, etc. I believe that with the recent beefed-up output of chinese aviation subjects (keep 'em coming!! L-15, J-7, JL-9, for example, are sorely missed), there should already be a good enough marked for decals (Dream Model, hope you have some here reading our posts)

Aaaaaannd while we're at it, how about a weapons set with chinese smart bombs, missiles (PL-10, PL-12, PL-15...) and pods such as the K/RKL700A? 😇

Love the idea the F35 has been shot by friendly fire...! (My money however is on a dodgy engine explosion)  if you look at the picture the Mighty Dragon has clearly been flying ahead of the F35 which has obviously  been shot down by something behind both of the aircraft....or the aforementioned dodgy engine failure

What will they do based on?

Do you understand that they (Chinese) are even retouching numbers?

You can’t count on the help of caring Chinese modellers for these reasons:

(This story only about J-10!)

"In mid-1997, an event occurred that had a negative impact on the progress of the "Project 8810".  One of the engineers who worked in the project group suddenly disappears.  As it turned out later, having received the opportunity to travel abroad, he decided to stay there.  Deciding to take such a step, he brought along some materials that are important for understanding the essence of the changes that the Lavi initial project underwent.

An engineer seeks protection from the CIA on condition that his project information is exchanged for US citizenship.  But during the transfer of materials, it turns out that some of the particularly valuable materials have disappeared.  He is invited from memory to recover part of the missing materials.  But he dies after a week in a car accident under rather strange circumstances.

This betrayal was the second violation of the regime of increased secrecy since the start of the project, when information was opened by a direct participant in the project.  The first case happened earlier, somewhere in 1995-1996.  Having worked in the project from the very first day, one of the engineers, having already changed his place of work, posted on the Internet a number of articles containing classified information on the 8810 program.  As a result of the proceedings, the relevant competent authorities confirmed the fact of the disclosure of classified information, and the offender was sentenced to several years in prison (a rather mild sentence by Chinese standards)."

In May 1999, detective intrigue reappears in the history of the project.  An article appears on the Internet that attracts the attention of an employee of the secret department of the Scientific and Technical University of Electronics in Sichuan.  After reviewing it, he immediately contacts the relevant regulatory authorities - the city government security department, the special department of the provincial public safety department, and the scientific and technical department of the provincial leadership.  After reading the article, a conclusion was made about the violation of the privacy regime under the "Project 8810".

Immediate action was taken.  A special unit of the provincial public security department and the provincial state security department are involved in operational-search measures.  The search for the source of information was carried out in two directions: by the places where the article was posted on the Internet and by “working off” the personnel of the design departments.  The special services of those cities where the traces of publication, Shanghai, Shenyang and Shenzhen, were gradually connected to the work of the created special group.  On June 11, after 21 days, a person who violated the secrecy of the project was detained and arrested.  After the investigation, by the court’s decision, he was punished - he was sentenced to eight months in prison in labor camps.  Again, an unprecedentedly mild sentence, designed more for the Western media than for intimidation of their own Voltaireans"

Resource:

http://paralay.world/j10.html

All only about J-10, which has less advanced technology than the J-20.  Therefore, I’m even scared to think about the privacy regime around the J-20!

On the regime of secrecy, it can be judged that despite the participation of the JH-7 and J-10 at the Aviadarts exercises in Russia, there are no detailed photos of these aircraft or a walkaround.

What decals on modern China aircraft  are you talking about?

😁

I'm talking about the simple stuff, Serge... lo-viz roundels like those included in this latest models of the J-20, lo-vis markings (ejection seat triangles, caution/danger arrows, etc), all of which are readily available on many pictures published on the internet, plus the few squadron badges and markings that have already been revealed (mostly belonging to J-10s and J-11s). The cloak-and-dagger routine around the numbers is a whole different - and complicated - issue, but a few have been revealed and could, definitely, be subjects of a - albeit simple - very welcome option to help build PLAAF subjects with their latest lo-vis markings... 👍

Looks much better than Trumpeter and it actually is.

I got mine a few days ago, still there is some room for improvement about the details but... hey... that is a new Iron Curtain 5th generation aircraft and even that model is something!

Can you take a decal photo?

It seems to me, or is the MiG-29 silhouette really on decals?

A Mig-29 ?? Where ?? :fraidnot:

The only aircraft I see on the decals is the plane's top view itself on the cockpit MFD. You sure? Maybe it's the leftover of your last build still in your eyes :)

That is a Mig-29, but there's no such decal on the original sheet. And see post #41 as well, he seems to be the author of your link and the Mig-29...

Author on original Facebook posting no writte about hand-made decal,  so I asked a question....after "shoot down F-35" on Dream Model box art, why can not be "MiG-29 kill marking" on Dream Model decal?
