Hello all,

Just thought I would quickly introduce myself.

I started modelling aircraft when I was in school, doing various scales / eras of aircraft. Did a lot of Harrier models, as this was always a special interest to me.

I have been self taught from the start and this showed on my early models 🙄. I was always in a rush to get them done and wasn't too worried about quality.

Fast forward to now (mid 30's) and I have started to do more models. I hadn't really done much in the way of modelling in between this time, just random bits.

The first model I went back to was my 1/24 Airfix Harrier GR3, which I spent a bit more time to get right. Its no where near perfect, but was a definite level up from the early days! (I will upload an image of this).

The next model I completed was my 1/24 Airfix Messerschmitt 109, which I was happy with. Again it was ok, but could have been taken much further. The nose sections didn't want to fit that great, but I trimmed as best as I could. I have had issues with decals and silvering on the clear parts. I have since been reading some threads and found a way to get this better involving gloss clear first. I will try this next time. https://500px.com/photo/1000625464/109-jpg-by-Nick-WW

Most recently I have completed my 1/24 Airfix spitfire Mk1a, which was a similar level to the 109. Again had issues with decals, which included the old ones falling to pieces. I made up my own, which came out good. Again had a bit of an issue with nose upper section fitting correctly, but I removed plastic to help. https://500px.com/photo/1000625468/spit-by-Nick-WW

Both 109 & spitfire could do with a matt clear coat over the top. I did do this with my old harrier, but haven't done it with either of these.

So on to my current model, Which is a Revell 1/32 Panavia tornado. Ive had this kit for a while and although I like tornados, im not really in to building it. But having said that, it needs to be completed. I am planning to use it as a bit of a test model, trying out weathering techniques. I have never done this before, but do have some humbrol products dedicated to this.

I have never really added anything to the models, other than the original parts with the kits. I am hoping to take my modelling to the next step and add some more detail to the kits.

I currently have a stash of military aircraft which are; 1/24 P51 mustang Airfix, 1/24 Focke wolfe Airfix, 1/24 Stuka Airfix, 1/24 Typhoon Airfix, 1/24 Hurricane Airfix, 1/72 Lancaster Revell, 1/72 B17 bomer Revell & 1/48 B25 Revell monogram.

As you can see, I have more than enough to keep me going for now. 😁

Thanks for taking the time to read this, I look forward to posting further.

I forgot to ask, is there a better way to add images to the site? I presume Instagram isn't prefered? as this would be easy and free to link.

Yes there are a few sites to use, village photos for one.

And then there is Flickr.

I myself use Imgur. The app on my iPhone and iPad makes it easy for me, I hope this helps ?
