fjaweijfopi4j48 Posted July 30, 2019 Author Posted July 30, 2019 Some priming and interior painting: The oil coolers are next. Fiddly little buggers: 9

Three of the seats and the coolers belong to the Flightpath phootetched set, as you know. I use photoetched sets and parts sometimes, but for example making the styrene seats took me half the time the metal parts did. This is not true for every modeler, but in some cases it is for me. 2
fjaweijfopi4j48 Posted July 30, 2019 Author Posted July 30, 2019 New transparencies are measured, cut and fitted to the corresponding openings. i am not sure what would I do regarding the windshield, using the kit's transparency which has issues, or go for the P.E. arrangement with its own quirks, hence the lateral windows that extend to the very front. This presents a problem, since the triangular front part is curved/angled inwards, and the clear plastic would have none of it. If I use the front triangle, I may have to score and crack it to cover the said angle, being sure to match a P.E. vertical frame bit. Nothing seems to go like snapping the fingers in this particular area. May be I will make a wood master to vac the topmost part of the front glazing (provided, but to use with an oop Aeroclub part), since the front panels are included. But I may take the safest route after all. We'll see. The door and aft windows: The roof windows: 8

It's the 300mph airstream that wears them away at the front and they end up like that. That pdf document is a good read. Plywood covered wings.... I hadn't figured on that. Are you just smoothing everything off for that? It looks like they have moulded ribs on the wings 2

It looks like they have moulded ribs on the wings I have sanded off all the ribbing detail on both Ansons, the previous one -completed days ago- and this one. Photos as you go back to the beginning of the build. Now, pupil Lyttle, write100 times on the blackboard: "I have to read the posts thoroughly" 2 1
fjaweijfopi4j48 Posted August 2, 2019 Author Posted August 2, 2019 The interior is almost ready to be assembled, but first I have to determine if I would use the P.E. set arrangement for the front of the glazing or the kit's, and if the latter, chop the front section of the lateral framing: 5
fjaweijfopi4j48 Posted August 13, 2019 Author Posted August 13, 2019 I decided to cut off a section of side windows to negotiate the curving of the structure, gluing first the aft part to the fuselage (the acrylic is about the thickness of the kit's plastic): I may install the remaining front sections -angled, or replace them with the same clear film I plan to use for the windshield. We'll see how it goes: 4
fjaweijfopi4j48 Posted August 13, 2019 Author Posted August 13, 2019 The internal structure P.E. frames are put in place: The external frames are just laid over (loose, no glue) to appreciate the effect: 11
rob Lyttle Posted August 13, 2019 Posted August 13, 2019 I get the idea now. That's looking convincing and worthwhile 1
fjaweijfopi4j48 Posted August 13, 2019 Author Posted August 13, 2019 The interior is glued to one side and let to dry with the other side is just momentarily clamped together, not glued, to secure a good positioning: I found this glue among my supplies, tried it, it glues nothing to nothing, no matter what plastic you try to glue. Anyone familiar with this type of glue? Am I doing something wrong? Having bought it in the first place, for example?: 4
Courageous Posted August 14, 2019 Posted August 14, 2019 That framing looks excellent. I know nothing of your glue. Stuart 1
CedB Posted August 14, 2019 Posted August 14, 2019 Seconded - lovely work. CA does have a limited life and there's a thread about it here: 1
