Fairplay Tug

Recommended Posts

While the daughter and her boyfriend are up visiting for the next couple of weeks i have been turfed out of my model room but I can still use the old garage but this means that the battle class build will be on hold until then as I do not want to start moving all the stuff around and end up where something goes missing.

So to keep my sanity in place i will be doing this quite modern TUG it will be a OOB build no fancy detailing just for a bit of fun and to keep me out of the way with most of my stash.

Seem to remember someone else doing this kit with a lot of detail added

Side open boxes don't work for me so i cut this one open to have a flap lid

Main hull and upper structures go together quite well and a coat of primer

normally just use this desk and workbench as a spraying area but back to using it as a build desk again

Nice little distraction!

Good basis to try some new techniques maybe?

I'll follow along and see how she turns out!

A bit of light relief there Beefy and we all need that from time to time.

Gents thank you for following along with this I have to apologise for the lack of updates but soon after starting this build I lost one of my best mates my springer spaniel Sophie

So I have not quite been in the mood for any building but rather than sulk around I have sat back down at the bench and managed to get some paint on the soapdish

Hull and thruster pods painted in antifoul red

and the bridge in white primer

I do miss that furball lying next to me when I,am building

Gent's thanks for all your kind words it is really appreciated

So trying to get MO and JO back at it more painting done I think the masking for the bridge structures will be a bit of a challenge

and somehow I have managed to lose a small bit from the winch to the carpet monster which in itself is a strange one as there is no carpet in the garage  :hmmm:

will have to make one of the sticky up things bit of practise to my scratch build none existent skills suppose you have to start with the small things first

Which version? Fairplay I (Antwerpen) or Fairplay III, (Rotterdam) or Fairplay X (Hamburg)

I will be doing this as the Fairplay 1, Antwerpen version

Nice paint job Beefy, don't envy you the masking tho.

How worn are you thinking of making her? A bit of weathering, or a lot?

Geoff

Hi Geoff I was thinking about the weathering maybe just some light stains and wear n tear nearly new sort of look
