What/ how you've made those blob things hanging from the yard? Stuart Hi Stuart I believe that they are rollers to run up pendant flags. I take 0.8mm diam round rod and slice it with a No 11 blade with the back of the blade resting on the cutting mat, the same way that you'd chop up parsley - I rock the blade backwards and forwards so as to get a cut at right angles. I chop about 20-30 and then select the best/most similar sized and clean cut and bin the rest or use them for bolts such as appear on the 20mm pedestal. HTH Rob On 10/26/2019 at 10:01 PM, Murdo said: That mast looks excellent! Did you scratchbuild the antenna on top? Murdo the antenna on top is an etch piece that comes with the model or with the separate Coastal craft IFF/Radar sets Here's the rest of the "286" radar antennae, which I'll attach at the end post-rigging DSCF8820 by Rob Matthews, on Flickr Rob

robgizlu
I work from a single desk and it all gets a bit cluttered sometimes. Could I find the third prop? A 2 hour fingertip search around revealed nada. So little option but to try scratching one - which took 30 mins. So it's possible and at least this is an answer for future builds DSCF8826 by Rob Matthews, on Flickr The handrails were fitted to the Bridge/wheelhouse and are a very nice touch DSCF8824 by Rob Matthews, on Flickr And then it's onto paint using Sovereign Hobbies Colourcoats DSCF8823 by Rob Matthews, on Flickr The Colourcoat White is definitely an "Off-white" and I think is perfect for WW2 RN craft DSCF8827 by Rob Matthews, on Flickr DSCF8828 by Rob Matthews, on Flickr DSCF8831 by Rob Matthews, on Flickr DSCF8832 by Rob Matthews, on Flickr Masking the torpedo tubes was fiddly... Terry1954
Excellent leap in progress there Rob. Superb paint job coming along and what a save on the prop! A master at work. Don't forget to drop by and say hi again this year if you are at Telford, and I can regale you with "tales of long delays and distractions" with my own Vosper! 🤨 Terry 1
Courageous
As others have said Rob, good save on the prop, pucker job. Paint job progressing well too. Stuart Telford plans got hijacked as the club decided we would only display models conforming to our theme this year. So all work stopped on non theme models and I have actually started and completed 3 new models in five weeks all conforming to this year's theme. There is actually a fourth that might make it also. So I'll get back on the Vosper after Telford. Simples Terry

robgizlu
Thanks Rich Spent Saturday at SMW - very early start and breakfast with @Dads203 and @longshanks, great to see you Guys again and also to meet Simon and Richard. Caught up with @Terry1954 and @Courageous during the show. Great to meet you Stuart and nice to see Terry once more. Show was busy and at times it was difficult to "shop". The haul was modest... DSCF8837 (2) by Rob Matthews, on Flickr And here are some pics caught on the hop. The competition area shuts at 11.45 for judging, by 11.30 there were very few maritime entries. Wish there was more like this. IMG_2184 (2) by Rob Matthews, on Flickr Spent some time talking to Mark Smith (Coastal Craft History's author) on the Coastal Craft Models stand. Volume 5 may yet appear or very possibly a collaboration with Al ross to produce a 3rd volume after John Lambert's first 2 involving Vosper craft and then Fairmiles. Thanks again mark for the inspiration for the ML Landing Craft control Fairmile B. Your work has inspired me!!!! No Fairmile B yet from Coastal Craft models though they have some new etch sets of a redone 2in flare launcher and 2in flare racks as found on Vospers (horizontal). They are also releasing some etch sets of window "circle" vents, together with instrument faces and various etch discs and squares - all will be handy. Courageous
It was great talking to you Rob, glad you like my BPB in the flesh. Modest haul indeed. I already have the punch set, well handy. Saw the tug set but didn't buy but may do in the future. Must put one of those helping hands on a future list. My own maritime haul was 3 IBG 1/700 British destroyers that will make an appearance sometime...hopefully. Stuart
Dads203
Good to catch up again Rob, I think you should pop up for Cosford just as an excuse for a good social meet up, I think longshanks might be up for it now that he has thawed out and back in tropical Cornwall
