Colin W
Some more progress. Wing tanks added, more aerials and detail painting complete. Pitot added to finish leading edge made from carbon fibre rod. Most work is on the underside. Canopy is almost done and ready to add. Now I need to find a way to make the decals. Serials should be OK but the eagle on the fin will be a challenge. Colin Edited August 7, 2019 by Colin W Fin not final. Spell checker!
modelling minion
Very nearly there now Colin. Didn't realise you were making your own decals as well, adds another level of skill entirely.

Colin W
Well after a protracted wait I finally got time to finish the artwork and print the eagles and serials to complete the scheme. The lilies are for my BN Islander in the Year I was born, Group build. Colin
modelling minion
Very nice job on the printing Colin, the eagles look very nice indeed. Must admit I was wondering where the lilies would go on the A-37 .
modelling minion
Hi Colin, anything to report on your A-37? Should be very close to finishing by now.
Colin W
Ah so near and yet so far. Have had a few issues with the Dragonfly. First I managed to get glue under the canopy windscreen which then stuck to the instrument panel. I prissed it off but spent last week polishing it out. Just 2 white dots remain but it's now too thin to grind these out. Meanwhile I have finished the decals and put on now. No national insignia, just the serial and the eagle on the fin. I'll touch up the paint around the eagle once it's dried fully. It's a bit like a helicopter now. Almost impossible to touch without knocking something off. modelling minion
That is bad news with the canopy Colin, funny how these things always happen towards the end of a build isn't it. I know what you mean about having difficulty moving your kit without knocking something off, happens to me all the time and I usually end up losing bits too.
Colin W
Well I'm calling this finished. Eagles blended in to the camouflage, canopy jack made from the closed kit parts with a carbon fibre strut inserted, few other bits and pieces finished off. A good starter kit with about the right amount of PE and resin to bring it into this century. The only filler needed was in the airbrake well. I didn't sand off the raised panel lines which I regret as they stand out on such a small model. Colin
modelling minion
Excellent result Colin! It really is an unusual scheme to see an A-37 in and you have done a great job. Well done.

Colin W
Thanks for the comments above. I finally got time to update the pictures in the gallery so here are a few of the new ones that don't fit. Colin
John Masters
Your build is looking excellent and I cannot wait to get into my own eventually, one of these days... Who cannot love all the FAC/COIN aircraft? Such nifty looking birds...
