fjaweijfopi4j48
Here is finally the completed model of the Avro Anson in all its civil glory. My thanks again to the kit donor, Ebil Genius and Modeling Nemesis Sönke Schulz from Marzipanland, Volkania. The WiP article is here: This was a long and somewhat winding road, but in the process I learned a large number of things about the kit and the original planes, that I will promptly forget as I face a second Anson build, ready to recur on old mistakes and make new ones. Thanks also to Arctic Decals for the set I commissioned that allowed me to finish the model in such definitely not really subtle scheme 😉 There is a special joy in redeeming old dogs with new tricks, and you hone in the process those Shaolin skills. I think this would have made Master Sandpaper proud... 39

bhouse
Superb. I especially like the 'in flight' pictures - and great work on the flaps! A recently-deceased uncle of mine was an RAF flight instructor at the end of WWII and told me many tales of his time in Ansons so I've always had a great deal of affection for the type.
TonyW
Pretty as a picture. The B+W shot is especially nice. The Anson is a friendly looking plane, even in its fighting clothes. Your Civil version suits it down to the ground.

NorbertBu
I admire what you have made out of the old Airfix kit. The civil markings are very attractive!

pheonix
What a change from the usual camouflaged or silver wings versions! That really is striking - and difficult to believe that it is vintage Airfix. I remember building one of these kits as a young teenager - and it looked nothing like this! fjaweijfopi4j48
I noticed a couple of small things missing, as it seemingly invariably happens to me after a photo session. Out of the box and back to the board (but only after a well-deserved rest)

fjaweijfopi4j48
Photos reminded me that I had forgotten to add the aileron hinges, horns with balances and control cables, so here they are:
