Mel Sharkskin
I have a 1/350 wooden Deck for a 1930s Saratoga (CV-3) and, while searching my local shop for a kit to go with it, mistakenly picked up the Trumpeter 1/700 kit. It's nice enough for the scale, with lots of colourful a/c of the yellow-wings period. What has me baffled is that the kit instructions would have you paint the plastic deck in some vague yellow shade. Is this correct, and if so how does one mix this colour? If not correct, what is right? Thanks much.
JosephLalor
Sovereign Hobbies have a bleached teak colour (C01) in their Colourcoats range. It's a bit creamier looking than the old Humbrol Bleached Teak. Having looked around a little I find that US carriers had mahogany flight decks. I'm wondering if something like Humbrol's 110 wood brown might be a reasonable match. Edited July 23, 2019 by JosephLalor
