witjas4
Hi, This is a 1:35 model, the KV-1 russian heavy tank. This is Tamiya KIT no. 35066. I made it as movable model. Additional parts are the Friulmodel tracks, towing cables, engine grill, saw. At the bottom I added a short video how does the model ride. Constructive criticism is encouraged Edited August 13, 2019 by witjas4 added video 42

Bigglesof266
Is that the original Tamiya barrel or a metal replacement? I like the 'looks like glass' shine on the headlamp. How did you achieve it? All up, a very nice result.

About headlamp I would say that I'm not satisfied enough of the effect, see my Sherman Easyeight, it has better result. How to achive it? Just cut rounds of silver/chrome paper/foil (f.e. box of toothpaste) then glue and press them deeply inside lamp covers. Or just use Molotov Liquid Chrome marker. Then use some clear ingredients f.e. humbrol clearfix or better A.Mig (094) Crystal Glass (you can join both). When they be dry but too flat, just apply another layer (drop) of paint to make more sphere surface. regards Witjas

Redcoat2966
Very nice indeed...... clean but has a nice "used" feel, that doesn't distract from the subject. Regards Recoat

SoftScience
That's really fun! I love that you took a classic kit and made it look so nice. And it rides!!!
Spitfire31
A real lesson in how an apparently restrained (to be an AFV!) but well thought out weathering, with small nicks and wear and damages, make for a very convincing result! Impressive modelling. Kind regards, Joachim

duskwolf
I don't know how to do that I prefer the early war turret that was boxy and if i remember correctly its welded and the "E" model had extra plates bolted to the sides of the turret and an extra plate on the upper front plate just personal preference i think the up armoured early war versions looked really cool
