Meng Bradley Iraq

Recommended Posts

Just finished one of two vehicles for my diorama posted under "Battle of Fallujah-Operation Phantom Fury" all I have to say is loved the kit Meng makes a great product. I did alot of reaserch on the proper colours for US vehicles in Iraq from the 2004-2006 period as colours changed. This is the first armored vehicle I have ever made but allot of the skills I learned from building jets applies. Also doing research and watching othrs online builds helps.

Excellent job, i recently built the meng bradley with interior, never again haha. I love the desert colour you go. I had a issue with the hinges on the rear door. they were hellishly delicate ended up super gluing it down which i was gutted about doing. Mine wasnt yellow enough in the end.  Your dio base also looks supub too cant wait to see it. I got a 1/32 black hawk i keep meaning to do a black hawk down scene for so i might use your build 'for inspiration' ahem, coughs, copy off ;).

Hi Flaps Out,

Well, not a bad job at all for a first AFV. In fact, it's excellent

It's going to look even better in that dio, which, from what I can see, is top notch. I look forward to seeing the whole lot finished..

;

Are we going to get to see some figures as well? As an 'aviation' modeller, figure painting is obviously a fairly primitive art; figures in 1/35th are a whole different kit and caboodle and can be the icing on the cake of a good diorama or can completely ruin what was a masterpiece, so my advice is practice, practice, practice on the faces and don't settle for a 'that'll do'

Your so right I have been practicing reading amd watching tutorials. Here is my fourth attempt at figure heads.There is so much out there for WW2 but not so much for Iraq in the way good custom figures for the 2005 era I need.
